Overview

We assume the metering equipment has already been installed, focusing on the commissioning, in-field fault-finding and identification of bypasses.

Introduction

Commissioning prepayment meter usually includes confirming that the meter is installed correctly, pairing of the meter to the CIU and confirming the correct operation of both the CIU/meter communication and operation of both the meter and CIU.

Fault-finding highlights the steps taken to determine meter & CIU faults by using the available engineering tokens and basic electrical tests.

Meter bypasses are a constant threat to both the supplier of the service and the service provider, causing financial losses and potentially unsafe conditions.
